SUISS 2027 – Summer School in Scotland

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the 80th Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (SUISS), which will run from the 12th July – 21st August 2027 at the University of Edinburgh.
To mark this milestone anniversary, we are launching our new Queer Studies course, which will be taught by our very own Dr Gina Gwenffrewi from the 26th July – 7th August 2027. Further details available on the SUISS website:

As always, we will also be offering the following residential courses, which can be taken for university credits, and sought at undergraduate and postgraduate level: Creative Writing; Modernism, Contemporary Literature and Scottish Literature; and Contemporary British and Irish Theatre and Performance.

All of our courses are supplemented by a wide-ranging social and cultural programme and will include readings by contemporary Scottish authors and performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Edinburgh is the first UNESCO World City of Literature and is home to highly acclaimed authors such as Maggie O’Farrell, Ian Rankin, Irvine Welsh and Alexander McCall Smith to name just a few.

Please note that if three students from the same university attend our courses, we will offer them a 20% discount off the course fee. For the latest information, please visit our website at http://www.suiss.ed.ac.uk. We also offer a wide range of scholarship opportunities.
