Sadržaj kolegija: Kolegij se bavi strukturom i funkcijama engleskih riječi, skupina i rečenica te njihovom usporedbom s hrvatskom gramatikom. Gramatičke pojavnosti standardnog i nestandardnog jezika analiziraju se iz lingvističke, deskriptivne perspektive. Od studenata se očekuje da aktivno sudjeluju na nastavi, pročitaju obavezne dijelove literature te da riješe relevantne zadatke, koji se kasnije analiziraju na nastavi. Na kraju kolegija pristupa se pismenom ispitu.
Cilj kolegija: Upoznati studente s leksičkim kategorijama i sastavničkom strukturom rečenice u engleskome jeziku te sa sintaktičkim funkcijama pojedinih sastavničkih dijelova i odnosom sintakse i semantike. Usporediti različite jezične pojavnosti u engleskom i hrvatskom jeziku.
