Following the announcement of the AHRC Midlands3Cities Doctoral Training Partnership
(http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/midlands-3-cities/index.aspx), a Ł14.6 million consortium that will create 410 PhD studentships and  join the expertise of the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent  University, The University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University, The University of Leicester and De Montfort University, we are delighted to announce a range of AHRC-funded PhD and MRes opportunities in the Department of American and Canadian Studies at  the University of Nottingham.

The Department of American and Canadian Studies hosts a range of experts in the area of nineteenth-century American literature, culture, and history, and we welcome applications in these fields. You can find out more about staff research interests here:

The deadline for completed AHRC applications is 9th January 2014 but to be eligible for consideration for one of these awards you must first have been accepted for a place on the course and have discussed your funding application fully with your prospective Department.
