By reading various genres and types of texts across different media, students will be able to recognize, classify, examine, interpret, and communicate insights about the media and cultural structures of the analysed texts from the Anglophone world. In addition to reading and analysing texts, students will also acquire the basics of academic writing skills.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Student obligations: <\/strong>The final grade is based on continuous assessment which includes the following: regular attendance (total absence should not exceed three hours) \u2013 20%; preparation for and participation in in-class discussions \u2013 20%; research paper in English (1000-1500 words) \u2013 60%. All components of continuous assessment must be evaluated positively for students to pass the course. &nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Preparation for the weekly class:<\/strong> As the course is divided into thematic units, instructors will send preparatory materials for their weekly topic one week in advance, i.e., by Friday at the latest. Preparatory materials will not exceed one article\/chapter and a shorter literary text (requiring a maximum of 4-5 study hours).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Selecting the topic of the research paper: <\/strong>Students must choose their supervisor for the research paper topic in the last week of May.
