{"id":28508,"date":"2017-05-22T16:49:57","date_gmt":"2017-05-22T15:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anglist.ffzg.unizg.hr\/?p=28508"},"modified":"2017-05-22T17:05:31","modified_gmt":"2017-05-22T16:05:31","slug":"summer-school-2017-call-for-participation-thessaloniki-greece","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anglist.ffzg.unizg.hr\/?p=28508","title":{"rendered":"SUMMER SCHOOL 2017 &#8211; CALL FOR PARTICIPATION, Thessaloniki, Greece (deadline June 5th)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>SUMMER SCHOOL 2017 &#8211; CALL FOR PARTICIPATION<br \/>\n June 26 &#8211; July 1, 2017<br \/>\n <em>E<\/em><\/strong><em><strong>xploring Conflict, Sharing a Future in a World in Transition<br \/>\n (<\/strong><\/em><strong><span style=\"color: #434343;\">Deadline for applications: <b>June 5<\/b><sup><b>th<\/b><\/sup><b>, 2017<\/b><\/span><\/strong><em><strong>)<br \/>\n <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The Department of American Literature, School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in collaboration with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enl.auth.gr\/helaas\">Hellenic Association for American Studies<\/a> (HELAAS) and the kind contribution of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fulbright.gr\">Fulbright Foundation<\/a> in Greece is announcing the organization of the <strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Summer School<\/strong> to take place in Thessaloniki, at Aristotle University (School of English premises; Faculty of Philosophy; 3rd floor) between<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Monday 26 June to Saturday 1 July, 2017<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The 2017 Summer School aims at examining various moments of socio-cultural, historical and political transition by commenting on the notions of peace and conflict both in an American and transatlantic context with special emphasis placed on human rights, global education, shared cultural values, community diversity, cohesion and understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">\u00a0We welcome applications from:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>undergraduate and postgraduate students <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>researchers from all fields of studies <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>educators from primary, secondary and college education <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>IB students<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>the interested public <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The Summer School program is open to everyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of current scholarly debates and research within the context of: \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>Ethnicity <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>Global America <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>Peace and Conflict<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>Global education<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><em>Human rights, cultural diversity, non-violence. <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The language of the Summer School is English.
