Cilj: Upoznati studente s leksičkim kategorijama i sastavničkom strukturom rečenice u engleskome jeziku te s gramatičkom funkcijom pojedinih sastavničkih i rečeničnih dijelova, nastojeći usporediti različite jezične pojavnosti u engleskom i hrvatskom jeziku.
Obavezna literatura označena je podebljanim slovima.

NAČIN RADA: Gradivo se predaje po cjelinama, a nakon svake cjeline studenti na satu rješavaju određeni broj zadataka. Od studenata se također očekuje da kod kuće pročitaju određene dijelove literature koji se odnose na usvojeno gradivo te da riješe vježbe i zadatke koje poslije provjeravaju s nastavnikom na satu.
STUDENTSKE OBAVEZE I ELEMENTI VREDNOVANJA: Studenti bi trebali redovno pohađati nastavu i aktivno sudjelovati u nastavi. Tijekom semestra dva do tri puta ponavlja se ranije usvojeno gradivo, a studentima su ponuđena četiri nešto zahtjevnija zadatka od kojih biraju dva koja su uvjet za dobivanje potpisa. Zadnji tjedan nastave ponavlja se cjelokupno gradivo, a po završetku nastave studenti pristupaju pismenom ispitu.
